Sheppard Morose is a St. Louis based contemporary artist born in 1962 in Alton, Illinois. She is known for her strong use of color and geometric inspired designs. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communications from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and did post baccalaureate work at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She lives with her husband, Mark in Ladue and has two grown sons, Alexander and Jackson. 

Since her first substantial inclusion of 21 archival prints and a mural in the collection of SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, numerous corporations have brought her bright, colorful pieces on board in their public spaces. Centene Corporation’s late CEO, Michael Neidorff, hand selected 11 dye sublimation prints on aluminum and one original painting for their prestigious Clayton corporate headquarters collection. She has over 250 original paintings in private collections across the country and in France. 

Modern artists and designers Ellsworth Kelly, Helen Frankenthaler, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Mies Van der Rohe and Alexander Calder are her greatest influences. Her parents are her greatest inspiration.

"My Mom was a fine arts major and my Dad is a civil engineer. We had examples of pleasing, functional design all around us growing up. I remember conversations with my Mom in our garden where she described the colors and textures of the plants, sky and landscape in fascinating detail. She was coaching me to have an artists “eye” at a very young age. I’m grateful for that."

COMMISSIONS

Commissions are welcomed. Photos and video are shared as the work progresses for approval. Most projects take four to six weeks and require a 50% deposit to start.
