Sheppard Morose is a St. Louis-based contemporary artist known for her bold use of color and geometric-inspired compositions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with post-baccalaureate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She lives in Ladue with her husband, Mark, and has two grown sons, Alexander and Jackson.
Since her first major commission—21 archival prints and a mural for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center—her work has been acquired by leading corporations, collectors, and institutions. Among them, Centene Corporation’s late CEO, Michael Neidorff, personally selected 11 dye-sublimation prints on aluminum and an original painting for the company’s prestigious Clayton headquarters. With over 250 original paintings held in private collections across the U.S. and France, her work continues to captivate art enthusiasts and designers alike.
Inspired by modern masters such as Ellsworth Kelly, Helen Frankenthaler, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Mies Van der Rohe, and Alexander Calder, Morose’s creative foundation is deeply personal. "My mother, a fine arts major, and my father, a civil engineer, surrounded me with examples of functional beauty and refined design. I vividly recall conversations in our garden, where she described the interplay of colors and textures in mesmerizing detail. She trained my eye to see the world as an artist—an invaluable gift."
